Phase II of award-winning national model for co-locating housing, healthcare, and supportive services
CAMBA Gardens (CGII), a $100 million public-private investment offering 293 homes, builds upon CHV’s national model for a partnership between a public hospital, nonprofit developer, and supportive services provider which began with CAMBA Gardens I. Both phases present a unique and transformative opportunity to provide affordable housing, streamline healthcare services for tenants, provide revenue for adjacent businesses, and continue established relationships with the hospital and community. Co-locating housing with healthcare and CAMBA’s uplifting supportive services creates a critical connection for special needs tenants to lead healthy, full lives.
CGII provides 40 permanent jobs for the local economy and during construction generated 159 jobs for Brooklyn residents through more than $31 million in contracts awarded to Brooklyn-based contractors. The development offers workforce housing to increase the neighborhood’s tax base, which helps the local economy and ensures the stability of the investment for all partners. CGII requires less energy and produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions due to CHV’s investment in a rooftop solar array, healthy indoor air quality, non-toxic finishes, and a variety of green spaces for all ages.
