About Us
OUR APPROACH

CHV develops, owns, and manages apartment buildings that are elevating the standard for affordable and supportive housing. Our projects respond to the urgent needs of the communities we serve, and embody design excellence through our use of high-quality and environmentally-friendly materials and contextual architecture.

High-Quality Affordable Housing that is Never Formulaic

At CHV, design excellence means we build with the highest standards while also taking the extra time needed to stretch every dollar. CHV uses quality, budget conscious materials that are sourced for specific projects to ensure each building is beautiful, contextual, and stands the test of time.

Our buildings are community assets with amenities such as:

  • Lush landscaping
  • Rooftop terraces
  • Community kitchens
  • Food pantries
  • Edible gardens
  • Local artwork
  • Flexible enrichment spaces

We design our projects with sculptures and local artwork to ensure our tenants feel proud of the place they call home. Our developments feature more than 150 curated pieces selected for aesthetic value, community connection, and support of local artists. We believe providing a sense of dignity through design is as important as putting a roof over people’s heads. We also believe a strong connection to the community is critical and incorporating pieces from local artists adds to this connectivity.

The degree of attention CHV puts into common spaces; their concern with social services and building a sense of community among residents; and their commitment to creating a connection to outdoor, natural space makes their care of residents exemplary. The social spaces, community rooms, and outdoor landscapes are very well thought out.”

Numerous scientific studies point to the health benefits provided by access to green spaces and artwork. Reduced depression, increased happiness, better general health, increased cognitive ability, reduced aggression, and easier recovery from surgery have all been linked to exposure to urban nature. Research also shows visual art promotes health and wellness, and fosters adaptive responses to stress. CHV’s commitment to beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces and curated artwork throughout our buildings is a commitment to the health and wellbeing of our tenants.
