Joint Venture: Mixed-use new construction of sustainable and affordable housing
Formerly called Gateway Elton II, the Alan Epstein Apartments — which are part of the Gateway Elton Street three-phase development project — were named in honor of Alan Epstein, an attorney and leader in the NYC supportive and affordable housing industry. The $60 million development was created in partnership with Hudson Companies and Related, and now offers a sprawling campus for affordable housing mixed with retail space. The development consists of three newly-constructed buildings, encompassing 175 affordable homes and 24,000 square feet of ground floor/cellar retail space for a total of 207,625 square feet of new construction. It features 275,000 watts of solar photovoltaics and the highest level of energy efficiency and chemical-free materials in affordable housing.
