Rehabilitation and new construction of permanent affordable and supportive housing with community space

CHV stepped in during construction in a work-out deal to complete a gut rehab of a former luggage factory and finished an adjacent, new construction building to create this mixed-used development. 880 Willoughby is a $16 million public-private investment and offers 100 homes for individuals that are low-income, formerly unhoused exiting the shelter system, formerly unhoused employed individuals, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS or a mental health diagnosis.

All of the units are fully furnished and beautifully appointed studio apartments with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and hardwood floors. The development also features an outdoor sculpture garden and patio for tenant use. The development includes ground-floor retail space and is located near major public transportation and neighborhood amenities. As a mixed-use building, 880 Willoughby helps spur redevelopment in Bushwick and provides a transformative asset for tenants and the community.
