Helping low-income and formerly homeless individuals and families
CHV’s largest development to date, The Bronx Grove is currently under construction to bring two buildings of transit-oriented supportive housing to the Bedford Park neighborhood of the Bronx. It will provide affordable housing for local community individuals and families, as well as individuals and families exiting a NYC DHS shelter with special needs.
The Bronx Grove is targeting LEED-Gold standards and will promote healthy indoor air quality through non-toxic finishes and ventilation. Increased insulation, energy-saving appliances and lighting fixtures, and water-saving fixtures decrease the development’s consumption of natural resources and reduce costs for tenants and for CHV. Staff and tenants will also participate in sustainability training upon occupancy.
CAMBA will hold job fairs with the local community board to recruit in Bronx Community Board 7 and borough-wide. It is anticipated that the project will create hundreds of construction job opportunities and up to 50 permanent jobs.
