Stabilizing veterans and formerly homeless individuals and families
The Bronx Grove is a $164 million public-private investment in the Bedford Park neighborhood of the Bronx. The development brings two buildings of much-needed, sustainable, transit-oriented, affordable and supportive rental housing to the area.
The Bronx Grove provides 127 affordable lottery units for local community individuals and families, and 194 supportive units for individuals and families referred by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) that include the frail elderly and veterans. Additionally, there will be two units for onsite supers (one unit per building) for a total of 323 units. CAMBA will provide onsite supportive services available to all tenants and 24/7 front desk security.
The Bronx Grove is targeting LEED-Gold and ENERGY STAR certifications, and will promote healthy indoor-air quality through non-toxic finishes, ventilation, and a non-smoking policy. The development includes a 102.6 kW rooftop solar panel system on each building.
With a focus on local hiring, CHV sponsored three construction job fairs, and CAMBA and CHV anticipate creating up to 50 permanent jobs. CHV has exceeded the NYS HHAP Minority-Owned Business Enterprise and NYS HHAP Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business goals.
CHV also facilitated a connection between NYC HPD’s marketing community outreach team and Bronx Community Board 7 to schedule informative tutorials on the NYC Housing Connect lottery process, in English and Spanish. The Bronx Grove lottery ended on April 28, 2023.
